Paul H. Reuter, 84, of Urbana, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 11, 2025. Paul was born on February 18, 1941, in Pomeroy, Ohio to the late Gerald and Artie (Fry) Reuter. He was a graduate of Pomeroy High School, class of 1959.
He married Margie Roach on July 14, 1962, while serving in the United States Air Force. They relocated to Urbana in 1966 when Paul became the Champaign County Wildlife Officer, a position he held and loved for 30 years. His biggest joys from his job were the many friends he made, teaching hunter education courses, and promoting the Wood Duck Box program, which was an initiative designed to help wood ducks, a native Ohio bird, by providing artificial nesting sites.
After retiring from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in 1994, he ran his own small business, Reuter Honey Bee Supply. He used his expertise as a Master Beekeeper to educate and teach aspiring beekeepers.
In later years, he spent his time with family and friends, especially enjoying time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
For the last 20 years, Paul led a weekly men’s prayer breakfast. He and his brothers in Christ faithfully met each Friday morning at the Farmer’s Daughter restaurant in Urbana to enjoy Chrisitan Fellowship and pray for the needs of others.
Paul accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in his late 20s and spent many years serving in several churches in various capacities. He was a deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, worked with the church youth, and drove a church van. He was a mentor to many young children. Paul was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Urbana for over 20 years.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Margie; his children, Paul J. (Susan) Reuter of Springfield, OH, and Julie Reuter of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Tracie (Jordan) McClure of Cedarville, OH, Rachael (Kyle) Bober of Powell, OH and Matt Reuter of Bellefontaine, OH; his great-grandchildren, Annie, Mason, Vivian, and Josie; and many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
Paul is preceded in death by his brothers, Donald and Gerald Keith Reuter.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 AM – 12 PM on Monday, August 18, 2025, in Grace Baptist Church, Urbana, Ohio.
Funeral service will follow at 12 PM in the church with Pastor Aaron Samples officiating.
