Orville F. Caldwell, 84, recently of Liberty Village, died 4:15 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2006, in Adena Regional Medical Center, following a short illness.
He was born November 28, 1921, in St. Marys, Ohio, to the late Melvin R. and Louise Will Caldwell. On July 26, 1942, he married the former Lillian A. Thompson, who died November 11, 1997.
Surviving are children, C. Duane (Pat) Caldwell, of Jamestown, OH, and Bruce E. (Teresa) Caldwell, of Waverly; grandchildren, Matthew Caldwell, Heather Caldwell, Jeremy Caldwell and Jennifer Morgensen; great-grandchildren, Ashley Caldwell and Dane Robert Morgensen; and a sister, Rita (Ned) Lenhart, of Maumee, OH. He was predeceased by brothers, Melvin Caldwell and Duane Caldwell and a stepmother, Ann Caldwell.
Orville served in the U.S. Army/Air Corps’ 303 Depot Repair Squadron during World War II. He was a 1940 graduate of Circleville High School, State Game Protector in Ross County for 27 years and assisted his loving wife Lillian in their ceramic business until 1986.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2006 in the Ware Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Bevan and Josh Bevan officiating. Burial will follow in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Firing Squad. Friends may call at Ware’s from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
