Cleetus H. Carsey, age 82, of Caldwell, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Select Specialty Hospital in Zanesville.
He was born January 4, 1923, in Athens, Ohio, son of the late Edson and Samaria Bridwell Carsey. He had worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation, and retired from the Ohio Division of Wildlife in 1981 following 30 years of service. Mr. Carsey was named the Ohio Wildlife Officer of the Year in 1981. He also served 25 years as the Noble County Game Protector, and owned and operated Skyview Satellite Systems in Caldwell for 13 years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Edson Carsey, in 1972; four brothers, Walter, Leo, Robert, and Mac Carsey; and an infant sister.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Hamer Carsey, whom he married April 9, 1943; one daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Sharon) Stottsberry of Caldwell; one son, David (Marilyn) Carsey of Caldwell; 5 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday, April 10, 2005, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, where services will be held Monday at 11AM with Pastors Jim Garrett and Rodney Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Village View Cemetery, Sarahsville.
