Frederick G. Tyo

Frederick G. Tyo, Age 74 of Tipp City, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on March 22, 1942 the son of Jasper Rennison & Hazel Violet (Wells) Tyo. He retired from the Darke County Sheriff’s Dept. as a 911 Dispatcher and was retired from the Ohio Division of Wildlife as a Game Protector for over 20 years. He was a member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Fred loved to laugh and crack jokes. He was a homebody who relished a good cup of coffee and a recliner. A huge Cleveland Browns fan, he also enjoyed being out in nature and had fascinating stories about his time working with hunters and wildlife as the county Game Warden. He craved solitude and time with family. He was vetultimately a sympathetic and tolerant man who viewed politics with a skeptical, ironic perspective that his daughter Kim in particular appreciated. He loved all his children and his wife Kathie very much and told them how much they meant to him whenever he could. We will miss him.

He is survived by his 2 daughters Kim (Aaron) Tyo-Dickerson and Michelle (Michael) Fisher, 3 sons Tim (Deb) Tyo, Jim (Kendra) Tyo, and Mark (Jerri) Reagan; grandchildren Tagesech Tyo- Dickerson, Abity Tyo-Dickerson, Ashley (Anthony) Miller, Taylor Tyo, Tessa Tyo, Taran Tyo, Tori Tyo, Elizabeth Tyo, Katherine Durham, Holly Fisher, Daniel Fisher, Jennifer Fisher, Sarah Durham, Adam Durham, Jonathon Reagan, and Mike Reagan; great grandchildren Kylie, Camaron, Kaden, Lydia, Charlie, Rosie, Dylan, Lucas, Avery Tyo and Aaliyah Miller; brother Tom Tyo, sisters Judy Hess and Dottie Riffle; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kathie Tyo, a daughter Pauletta Lynn Tyo, a brother Jay Tyo, and a sister Marilyn Galla.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City.
