Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Thursday at Berlin Center United Methodist Church, 15611 Akron Canfield Rd., Berlin Center, OH 44401, for Bruce G. Smith, who passed away Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Bruce was born August 14, 1935 in Ashland a son of the late Oscar and Avis (Flagstaff) Smith. A United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, he retired in 1991 after 32 years with the Ohio Division of Wildlife in Fish Management. He was a member of the Berlin Center United Methodist Church, and a life member of the NRA. Bruce enjoyed gardening, woodworking, hunting, fishing, and bird watching.

He is survived by his wife the former Nadine Clark, whom he married October 3, 1970; three children: Gayle (Doug) Battershell of Damascus, Jim Whitlam of Berlin Center, and Mike Trimble of Columbiana; three grandchildren: Stacey (Dennis) Spears of Canton, Kyle Trimble and Ryan Trimble both of Canfield and two great granddaughters Riley and Reese Spears. Besides his parents, Bruce is preceded in death by a brother Bob Smith.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church in Bruce’s name.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday prior to the services at the church.
