Carl “Toot” Danner

Age 78 of Minerva died Saturday, April 18, 2009 in the Ivy Wood Manor in North Lima.

He was born May 27, 1930 in Canton to John and Irene (Hall) Danner. He retired from the Ohio Division of Wildlife where he was the Highlandtown wildlife area manager for 23 years. He was also a Dairy Farmer. He is a member and former trustee of the Bethesda Presbyterian Church and attended the Minerva First Presbyterian Church. He is a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a graduate of Jackson High School and former President of the Southern Local Athletic Booster Club.

He is survived by his wife, Alberta (Dine) Danner, who he married April 24, 1953; three daughters, Pamela (Andrew) Mitchell of Arizona, Barbara (Michael) Archie of Texas, Cathy (David) Archer of Bolivar; three sons, Mark (Elizabeth) Danner of Chardon, Daniel (Melia) Danner of Minerva, Steven (Deanna) Danner of Lisbon; four sisters, Audrie Saunders of N. Canton, Mary Howe of N. Canton, Donna Shoemaker of N. Canton, Jo-Ann Carmen of East Rochester; three brothers, Jerry (Linda) Danner of Louisville, Wayne (Nancy) Danner of Canton, Warren (Vivian) Danner of N. Canton; eight grandchildren, Drew and Adam Archer, Nikki Archie, Matt, Christopher, Kyle, James, and Ian Danner. He is preceded in death by four brothers, Merlin, Kenneth, Jack, and Richard Danner.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Saturday, April 25 at 12 Noon, in the Minerva First Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Lane officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Minerva First Presbyterian Church.
