Charles F. Nichols

Charles F. Nichols, 82, of Malta passed away at 7:35 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville.
He was born February 23, 1933 in Trimble, Ohio to the late John Nichols and Gladys Armstrong Nichols. Charles was a farmer and was retired from the Ohio Division of Wildlife where he worked in the Wolf Creek area. Charles loved his cows and was a member of the Wolf Creek Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Thea Shilling Nichols; three sons, Kenneth (Barbara) Nichols of Malta, Charles “Chuck” (Kathy) Nichols of Thornville, and Kevin (Kay) Nichols of McConnelsville; seven grandchildren, Kim (Jeff) Haines, Kelly (Nathan) Daniel, Kylee Nichols, Kaylyn Nichols, Jennifer Nichols, Julie Nichols and Jack Nichols; five great grandchildren, Emily Haines, Madalyn Daniel, Andrew Haines, Ava Haines, and Alana Daniel.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five sisters, Dortha Pedicord, Nelva Kasler, Ruth Carter, Vashti Stephenson, and Barbara Chappelear; three brothers, Jack, Paul, and Elvin Nichols; and two granddaughters, Makayla and Makenzie Daniel.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Richard Ross officiating. Charles will be laid to rest in the Wolf Creek Cemetery.
