Daniel W. Griffiths, age 89 died Monday, February 2, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Ft. Wayne, IN.

He was born May 31, 1925 in Oak Hill, Ohio the son of Daniel W. and Nellie (Ward) Griffiths Sr. On June 28, 1982 he married Bonnie L. Hartwick, who survives. He was a WWII US Marine sergeant serving in Okinawa. He retired in 1981 as State Game Protector, Division of Wild Life Dept. Natural Resources. He was a member of Paulding United Methodist Church; Paulding Fish and Game Club; and Paulding Eagles #2405.

Daniel is also survived by two sons, Greg (Beth) Griffiths and Alan (Cheri) Griffiths, both of Paulding; Dave Bashore, Hicksville, Debra (Kevin) Bashore, Van Wert, Danette Kochenour, and Doug (Megan) Bashore both of Paulding; a sister, Eloise Hackworth, Williamsville, NY; aunt, Mildred Griffiths Sandlin; fourteen grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Nathan D. Griffiths; and brother-in-law, Vaughn Hackworth.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Friday, February 6, 2015 at the United Methodist Church, Paulding. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding County with military graveside services accorded by Paulding VFW #587.

Visitation will be 4 – 8 PM Thursday, February 5 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. There will also be visitation on Friday at 10 AM until time of services at the church on Friday.
