Eugene David Oyer

Eugene (Gene) David Oyer, 92, of Waldren Hill Road, Piketon, Ohio, died 3:24 a.m. Sunday, 4 Dec. 2016, in Pleasant Hill Manor, Piketon, Ohio.
He was born 28 April 1924, in Waverly, Ohio, the son of the late Oscar Richard Oyer and Mabel (Haynes) Oyer. On 17 Dec. 1948, Eugene was united in marriage to Marcella Rose (Roth) Oyer who preceded him in death on 18 June 2013.

 Surviving are his son Thomas David Oyer and wife Delores J. of Piketon, Ohio, grandchildren, Amanda Rose Davison and husband James of Waverly and Thomas David Oyer II and wife Leslie and a great grandson Colten David Oyer, both of Piketon, Ohio.
 He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Malcolm Oyer and a sister, Wynona Oyer.
Eugene was a member of the Dailyville Freewill Baptist church, a retired employee of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife at Kincaid Fish Hatchery in Pike County, and a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII.
 Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, 7 Dec. 2016, at the Boyer Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Dale Reed, officiating. Burial will follow in McKendree Cemetery, Stout, Ohio, with military graveside services by American Legion Merritt Post #142, Waverly.
Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour on Wednesday.
