Gene “Pete” Morrow, 83, of Leesburg, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 11, 1931 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Willard and Blanche Ladd Morrow.

Mr. Morrow had retired as the manager of the Fallsville, Paint Creek and Tranquility Wildlife areas for the Ohio Division of Wildlife and had been a lifelong farmer. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during the Korean War, a 1949 graduate of Hillsboro High School, was a member of the Highland Lodge #38 F&AM, the NRA, the Ohio Gun Collector’s Association and the Leesburg American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Barrett Morrow, who he had married on April 11, 1973 in Greenfield; one nephew, Mike (Sheree) Morrow of Dallas, Texas; two great nieces, Michelle (Jeff) Wright of Texas and Melissa Ann Morrow of Milwaukee, Wisc.; one great-nephew, Marc (Amanda) Morrow; one great-great-nephew, Justin Daniel Wright; one sister-in-law, Joyce (Doug) Pritchard of Marion; and one cousin, Bill (Dorothy) Downing of Hillsboro.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Virginia Morrow.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26 from 6 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
