Harold G. Blackwood, conservationist and angler, 81 of Springfield died October 25, 2016 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of James and Emily Blackwood.
Harold retired as a Wildlife Officer with 32 years of service with the ODNR Division of Wildlife. He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, National Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, H.S. Kissell Lodge # 674, Clark County Shrine Club and the Clark County Sportsman Club. Harold served his country in the Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, and brother David G. Blackwood. Survivors include his wife Nancy Blackwood; son Glen R. (Kathleen) Blackwood and daughter Ruth C. (Michael) Lee; sister Janet Levering; grandchildren Megan and Ian Blackwood and Rachel and Dylan Lee; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday from 4-8PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Services to honor Harold will be Saturday at 11:00AM in the Memorial Home with visitation from 9:30AM until time of services. Burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Centre County, PA.
