Helen A Martin, age 90, of 218 James Street, Mount Vernon, died January 7, 2000 at Knox Community Hospital. She was born July 16, 1909 in Delaware County to Guy and Cora (Nelson) Shoemaker.
She was a member of Green Valley Southern Baptist Church. She was an inactive member of the Troy Chapel Community Chapel in Delaware, Pilot Dogs Inc. and Public Employee Retirees. She graduated from Ashley High School and Office Training School in Columbus. She retired as secretary from Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife.
She is survived by a nephew Allan Shoemaker of Sparta; a niece Joann Cusick of Glendale, Arizona; many grand nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Don Mack in 1963, her second husband Curtis Martin in 1986; 2 brothers Harold and Frank Shoemaker; sister Hazel Main and nephew James Shoemaker.
Friends may call at the NORTH-DILLEY FUNERAL HOME in Mount Vernon from 6-8 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at the Green Valley Baptist Church; with Pastors Dan Taylor, Dan Duffy and Shannon Duncan officiating. Burial will be in the Marlborough Cemetery .
