Mary M. Brooks, 82, of New Marshfield, died Friday evening, Nov. 9, 2007, at her home.
Born Jan. 28, 1925, in Waterloo Township, Athens County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar E. and Gertrude M. Linton Andrews.
A graduate of Waterloo High School, she was a lifelong resident of New Marshfield. Mary retired as a secretary from the Waterloo Wildlife Experimental Station. She was a member of New Marshfield United Methodist Church, Albany Chapter 558, Order of the Eastern Star, and Gilham-Frank VFW Post 8804 Ladies Auxiliary. She had served as Worthy Matron of New Marshfield Chapter 346 Order of the Eastern Star.
Mary is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cherry Dee and Sheldon Lowry of Athens; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Joyce Ann Keffer of New Marshfield; five granddaughters, Lynette Lowry and Shelly Lowry, both of New Marshfield, Michele (Roger) Aldridge of Hixson, Tenn., Melissa (Brad) Baker of Athens, and Melinda Keffer of Athens; two great-grandchildren, Conner and Cameron Aldridge; and a sister, Jo Ann Pulfer of Athens.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth D. Brooks, 1996; granddaughter Megan Renee Keffer; five sisters, Cathern Collins, Reba Withers, Lena Lightfritz, Nell Gilham and Beulah Herwick; and three brothers, Denver, Robert and James Andrews.
Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home by Pastor David Cogar with burial in New Marshfield Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Albany Chapter 558 O.E.S. will hold services Monday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
