Wendell J. Foreman, 83, of Bellevue died Tuesday morning, Jan. 11, 2011, in Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born Nov. 18, 1927, in Sandusky and graduated from Townsend High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for the Ohio Division of Wildlife as a wildlife area manager for 32 years and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Wendell was a life-member of Sandusky AMVETS Post 17, he served with the masons for more than 50 years and was a member of Monticello Lodge 244, Clyde Chapter 90, Bellevue Council 82, Fremont Commandery 56 and 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo.

He is survived by two daughters, Karen Foreman of Vermilion and Kim Foreman of Corning, Ohio; son, Walter (Diane) Foreman of Monroeville; five grand-children, Katie Ries, Kyle Ramsey, Aubrey Hand, and Erin and Tyler Foreman; two brothers, Jim (Eileen) Foreman and Jack (Joyce) Foreman; steadfast friend, George Nelson; and several nieces and nephews.

Wendell was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Schliepp) Foreman, in 2001; and parents, Claude and Blanche (Pittenger) Foreman.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. Saturday in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, until memorial services at 4 p.m.
